Long tail Keywords are effective tools for online writers. It certainly enhances traffic and rank to the contents. It is nice to know that this trend is still on for SEO. Thanks John.

Some people tell you not to write for Google any longer. Is this part of it? Meaning long tail keywords could be a more natural fit with what you are trying to get across.

  • http://www.johnpaulaguiar.com/ John Paul

Joe you can add a key to your title and write content around it. When they say “dont write for google” they mean stuffing keys in your post, and write your post around a keyword, instead of writing for readers.

Keywords in content is still powerful and long tails are even more powerful if you are writing on a business blog, or a local business blog since long tails are more targeted and convert higher.

  • http://www.johnpaulaguiar.com/ John Paul

Fran I agree,, good to see it still holds value in writing content.

  • Chimezirim Odimba

Long tail keywords are definitely very profitable and one of the major reasons is the fact that writing articles with them in mind helps us write far more targeted posts.. Yes, we all like to rank for top phrases like “make money”. However, those people might be searching for a number of different ways to make money. Compare this with “how to make money online by blogging” and you can see which one will help you write a very targeted post.

A more targeted post is bound to convert better than a multi-purpose article.

Well Said in the infographic. Its better to write 2 high quality posts rather than posting 10 low quality posts.

I agree with this, as far as I know, most of the bloggers prefer to use short tail keywords but for me it is much better to use a long-tail keywords to grab more traffic and to be more specific.

  • http://www.johnpaulaguiar.com/ John Paul

Oliver, your right, long tail brings in less traffic then 1 and 2 words keys, but long tail makes up for it on better targeted keys with better conversion.

I would take that over big un targeted traffic every day.

Glad you found it valuable John. Looking forward for your next post.:)

Long tail keywords are SO much better than shorter keywords. You stand a much better chance of ranking for more specific terms that people are searching for. Of course, that means that you need to do your research so that you aren’t optimizing for a term that nobody is searching for.

    Great infographic!

  • http://www.johnpaulaguiar.com/ John Paul

All about the research. Long tails keys are great, you just have to know why your using them, For mass traffic, then you go with short keys, but if your trying to target and convert better then go with the long tail every time.
