2011 Follow Friday 25 Favorites

Top 25 2011 Favorites

Is it me, or did 2011 fly by?

Feels like yesterday when I was sitting here going over my steps to DOMINATE 2011…even though 2011 was a great year for me and Money Dummy blog, it missed a few goals.

I did learn a few things over the past year that will help me mold my plans of DOMINATION in 2012  (insert evil laugh here 🙂 )

follow friday

  • Focusing more on the “business” side of blogging,
  • Focus more on my blog and clients and projects.

  • Find a better balance to my business and the time I spend on SM sites.
  • Focus on doing things I dislike, but work.. ie: videos.
  • Focus on strengthening the blogger relationships I have built and nurture them into business partnerships.
  • Stop trying to be everything to everyone. I like to help people, seeing a client or a blogger that takes my advice and kills it, is just F***N AWESOME!  But there are time’s when you have to say no and be ok with that.
  • Focus on walking away. There has to be a happy balance for work and play and for me the past 5 years, it’s been a lot of work and not to much play.

Just a few things to work on 🙂  Hopefully these are a few things that can help you kill it in 2012!

Ok onto the reason your here, Finding some great people to connect with.

This Follow Friday post I did something different.  I decided to share the 25 People that have been sharing and connecting with me on a weekly basis all of 2011.

If I was a quarterback, this would be the team that I ride to the Super Bowl 🙂

If these people were in the Boston area, we would have drinks.

If I bought a 25 pack of muffins at BJ’s, these people would each get one.

Ok I’m sure get my point… Just follow them now if you don’t already.

  12. I have to say this, and not because I’m on the list, but because its 100% true.  John is nothing short of a great mentor.  Not only through this blog, but also on a personal mentor.

After reading his blogs for weeks, I decided to send him a quick direct message, seeking advice and feedback.  As in most cases, I didn’t expect much of a reply as most people always seem to be too busy to reply, but John did!

He took the time to give me feedback on my blog, my tweets and in general answer questions.  I’ve learned so much from him, and I’m still learning to this day!

    Just thought I’d share.

    Thanks John!

    Happy Holidays Everyone!

    Comment by John Paul — December 28, 2011 @ 2:07 pm

  22. Hi JP,

Awesome list of tweeters. I follow more than a few.

I hear you on work/play. Lighten the load. The cool part? You accomplish more and move into more effective acts when the work/play ratio is right. For virtually all, it means a lot more play and less work. Lighter = Better.

I learned similar lessons in the walking away department too. Some will ask favors, or make requests, and some of time you have to ignore it. No need to respond. If someone has issues with that of course that’s there issue, not yours, because you have every right to pick and choose what you want to do with your life.

Thanks for sharing your insight JP. Happy New Year.

  23. Ryan You nailed that man….” If someone has issues with that of course that’s there issue, not yours, because you have every right to pick and choose what you want to do with your life.”

Thats it.. you cant be everything to everyone.

    Thanks for sharing..
