7 Life Changing Things I Am Thankful For

Posted by in Inspiration, My Life

7 things I am thankful for in my life and business TODAY!

As entrepreneurs, we have to be thankful for the things and the people we have in our lives today, because it may be all gone tomorrow.

I wanted to put this post together to just put my thankfulness out into the universe, things have been good for me, my life and my business in 2016 and I would like it to continue…so I hope the universe is listening. :)

Plus we are a few days out from celebrating Thanksgiving and this is my small way to say Thank You to anyone or anything positive in my life.

Plus when do you ever take time from your busy schedule to just step back and see the big picture of your life or business and say… I am blessed, I am Thankful?

Not often right?

Hopefully this post will help you stop and recognize the positively in your life.

i am thankful

Now before we get to my list, let me share a little health science with you.

Just in case you need more reasons to be thankful, how about better sleep, better heart health and better emotional health!

“Clinical trials indicate that the practice of gratitude can have dramatic and lasting effects in a person’s life,” says Robert A. Emmons, professor of psychology at UC Davis. “It can lower blood pressure, improve immune function and facilitate more efficient sleep.”

7 Things I Am Thankful for In My Life and Business

1. My Good Health

This has to be #1 for me, my good health is what ALLOWS me to do all things I enjoy doing in my life and helps me keep my business moving forward.

As you probably know, I had a Kidney Transplant in 2002 and things have gone well with it the past 14.5 years.

But what you may not know is I had my FIRST Kidney Transplant when I was 18, donated by my mom.

That one only lasted 2 years, the mistakes I made there have motivated me to do things perfect with the kidney I have now… plus 7 years on dialysis was also a BIG learning experience and eye opener for me to GROW up.

I have said this many times, your health is #1, because no matter how much money and fame you have, if you are to sick to enjoy then WHAT IS THE POINT?!

2. My Family and Friends

A very close #2 is my family and friends.  Without there support when things were bad, I wouldn’t be here today writing you this post.

My parents may not be perfect, but they have ALWAYS been there to help me when I needed, whether they wanted to be or not.

And trust me, I have put them through some SHIT in my teens and 20’s, but they are still here and I love them for that.

To be honest, now that they are getting older, they are paying me back, most days I feel like a babysitter or referee lol

I am thankful for my sister, when I was down, she was always there to help in any way she could, even though she’s a hard working , busy single mom of my 2 nephews.

As far as being thankful for friends, there is really only one to be called out,,, my friend Doryan “Jiggles” Costa.

She is one of those people you want to have in your life till you die, a beautiful, caring, sweet, giving, funny girl that I call my best friend.

As the kiddies would say…”Doryan is my Ride or Die Bitch” :)

3. Freedom To Enjoy The Small Wins

Because of my health I am free able to grow my business, and because of that business, I am free to do most things I want each day.

Take morning off to get coffee and go grab some pictures of a sunset, I can.
Take time off to get nephew from school and get something to eat, I can.
Take day of to take my old Lincoln for a ride, I can.
Take time off to go visit my mom and have breakfast there, I can.
Take time off to go workout, I can, “but I don’t as much as I should but point is I can :)”

I used to work a 9 to 5, so now that I have freedom to do as I wish, I am VERY Thankful for that.

4. We Don’t Go Hungry

If you have been reading my blog long enough than you probably read the post about me not being able to afford buying my 10 yr old nephew a McDonald’s burger.

As low as that moment was in my life, I am Thankful that I took that and used it to motivate me to growing  my business faster.

And I am happy to say, my nephews, my family, my friends or myself will not go hungry anytime soon.

5. Financially Free-R

My finances are not at a “I’m Rich Status” but my business let’s me buy and do things I enjoy.

I have roof over my head, I have clothes, I have food on the table and bills are paid.

And my biggest splurge on myself was my, 1963 Lincoln Continental, a classic dream car I have wanted for about 20 years.

The best part of all this, I am thankful that I have setup my business and income to flow even if I walk away for weeks or months.

6. Mistakes Teach Me and Motivate Me

I have made so many mistakes in my life, health related, family related and business related, and learning from them has been a challenge sometimes.

But even if I didn’t learn from my mistakes at the time, I did in the future.

That learning combined with the fact I HATE TO LOSE, has helped me:

be motivated me to do better
to try harder
to see the big picture and trust the process
to be more patient

Mistakes will happen, don’t stress that, STRESS how you will react to those mistakes.

I still make mistakes, but that’s ok, I am Thankful that I am taking action.
